## Privacy Policy

### Introduction

NM-ByteLab (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the TenantHut app. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information, app permissions, sign-in options, account management, and messaging via WhatsApp and Facebook.

**Key Point:** TenantHut collects only the information required for its core functionality. This includes authentication, browsing and searching for listings, and for property owners, listing and managing their properties.

### 1. Information We Collect

TenantHut may collect the following information depending on your role and the actions you perform.

#### For All Users

* **Phone Authentication (WhatsApp / SMS):** Phone number (used for verification).
* **Google Sign-In:** Name, email address, and profile picture (provided by Google).
* **Facebook Sign-In:** Name, email address, and profile picture (provided by Facebook).
* **Location Data:** Used to show nearby properties, only with your permission.

#### For Property Owners (When Listing a Property)

In addition to the above, when you list a property we collect:

* **Property Details:** Area, city, fee, number of rooms, and description.
* **Property Features:** Boolean indicators such as fenced, water availability, electricity, and self-contained status.
* **Property Location:** Precise GPS coordinates of the listed property.
* **Property Images:** Photos you choose to upload for the listing.

TenantHut does **not** collect videos, contacts, or unrelated personal data.

### 2. How We Use Information

* **Authentication Data (Phone, Google, Facebook):** Used solely to create, verify, and maintain your account.
* **Property & Location Data:** Used to display property listings to other users on the platform.
* **Images:** Stored securely and displayed only as part of your property listing.

#### Account Management

TenantHut allows you to create an account upon signup. You may request account deletion at any time. Upon such a request, your authentication data and personal information stored on TenantHut will be securely deleted from our servers.

### 3. Sharing of Information

* TenantHut does **not sell or share** your authentication details, location data, or images with third parties.
* Authentication providers (Google, Facebook, WhatsApp, and phone carriers) process login and OTP delivery securely through their own platforms.
* Data is not shared beyond what is required for authentication and messaging services.

### 4. Security Measures

* **Firebase Authentication** is used for secure phone, Google, and Facebook sign-ins.
* Personal data such as phone numbers, email addresses, and profile details are **encrypted in transit**.
* TenantHut accesses location data and images **only when you grant permission**.
* WhatsApp and Facebook messages are sent **only to users who have explicitly opted in**.

### 5. Age & Children’s Privacy

TenantHut is intended for users aged **18 years and older**. Users under 18 should not use the app.

### 6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be communicated within the app.

## Terms of Service

### 1. Eligibility

You must be **18 years or older** to use TenantHut.

### 2. App Usage

TenantHut provides a platform for rental property discovery. Users can:

* Sign in securely using Phone, Google, or Facebook.
* Receive OTP authentication via WhatsApp or SMS.
* Browse and filter rental properties.
* View nearby properties (requires location permission).
* Select and upload images when listing a property.

Users cannot post comments, chat publicly, or interact beyond the provided functionality.

### 3. Liability

TenantHut acts solely as a discovery platform. We are **not liable** for agreements, disputes, or decisions made between users and property owners.

### 4. Permissions

* **Phone, Google, and Facebook Authentication:** Required for secure account access.
* **WhatsApp Messaging:** Optional, requires explicit user opt-in, used only for OTP authentication.
* **Location Access:** Required to show nearby properties.
* **Image Access:** Required only when selecting or uploading property images.

TenantHut does **not** access your location, images, or credentials in the background without your consent.

### 5. Account Creation and Deletion

* An account is required to use TenantHut features.
* Users may request account deletion at any time.
* Upon deletion, all personal and authentication data will be permanently erased from TenantHut systems.

These Terms are governed by the laws of **Malawi**.
